BOULDER CITY: HOME OF HOOVER DAM
Boulder City was built in the 1930’s to house the workers brought in to build Boulder Dam, which was later re-named to Hoover Dam. This federal town prohibited gambling, which is still in effect today. Many of the original buildings are still intact and the town has kept much of its original architecture and designs. Some of the artistic sculptures represent the workers from the dam.

Tickets are required to enter the dam for a tour. They are not required for walking across and around the dam. There is a charge for parking. Admissions to the area are included with a Hoover Dam Tour with National Park Express. Hoover Dam Exploration Tour includes a ticket inside the dam as well.
Yes. Weapons, narcotics, alcoholic beverages, and explosives (including fireworks) are prohibited. Luggage is not permitted past the checkpoint, driving into the Hoover Dam area. Small backpacks are permitted.
